Principles of effective use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

The article provides an overview of references on the rational use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in modern medicine. Nonsteroidal are a group with different chemical structures (mostly acid derivatives) that have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic, antiplatelet (acetylsalicylic acid, acetylsalicylate, ketoprofen, diclofenac sodium, niflumic indomethacin) effects. NSAIDs divided according to selectivity action relative cyclooxygenase (COX) isoforms: non-selective COX inhibitors, selective COX-1 approximately equal inhibition and COX-2, COX-2 inhibitors.
